Pastor
Christian McShaffrey was raised in a conservative Roman Catholic
home in the Midwest, fell away from that faith as a teenager, spent
several years in spiritual darkness, and was born again by the
sovereign grace of God at the age of 21.
With a strong desire to help others find new life in Christ, Christian
devoted himself to personal study and service in the local church.
When Christian’s inward called was confirmed through the outward call
of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, he was taken under care by the
Presbytery of the Midwest and began graduate studies at Mid America
Reformed Seminary. Christian graduated in May of 2003 and was ordained
as an Evangelist to Reedsburg in April of 2004.
In October of 2007, Grace Reformed Church was organized as a new and
separate congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church and three
Ruling Elders were ordained to join Christian in his ministerial labors.
Christian resides in Reedsburg with his wife Kelly and his children
Zechariah, Isabella, Micaiah, Anastasia, and Nehemiah.
Dennis
Baldridge was raised in the Church of the Nazarene and was saved
at the age of 8. Throughout his youth, he attended church regularly and
was an active member.
In 1976 he earned his undergraduate degree in music and
Master of Arts in Education from Olivet University in Kankakee, IL, and
later completed his PhD in Music from Louisiana Baptist University.
While at Olivet, Dennis's musical emphasis was on both instrumental and
choral music. He has used both in his positions as minister of music
throughout the years. Beginning in 1974 and continuing today, he has
directed choirs and orchestras for various churches and organizations.
Dennis and his wife Jane live in Hillsboro and have five
children: Jana, Timothy, Shelley, Mark, and Ryan.
For years Dennis studied in the Scriptures, seeking a Biblical view of
music and worship. As a result of this Biblical research, he discovered
the Reformed Faith as most accurately reflecting God's design and
systems of doctrine.
Dennis works as a broadcast engineer and consultant in SW Wisconsin. He
also teaches as adjunct faculty for Upper Iowa University and the
International Academy of Music.
Todd
Henreckson was born into a Christian home outside of
Chicago, and was baptized at age 17 in his family’s Baptist church,
where his father served as deacon.
He met his wife Janice while they attended Olivet Nazarene University,
where he graduated with a business major. Todd began his business
career, Janice and he married, and after spending 5 years out west,
they returned to the Midwest in 1990.
God then began their introduction to Reformed doctrine, first through
various Reformed radio and publishing ministries. Upon moving to
Wisconsin in 2000, their search for a church home led them to Grace
Reformed Church, then an early stage mission work of the OPC.
In early 2006, Todd was nominated for elder by the congregation, and
after training and examination by the overseeing session, was ordained
in fall of 2007.
Todd resides in rolling hills outside of Reedsburg with his wife Janice
and his children Michael, Stephen, Sara, Jonathan, and Rebecca.
Fred
Hermes grew up in a Lutheran home in Racine, WI with parents who
both active in the music ministries of their local church.
At the age of 12 he received Jesus Christ as his Savior at a Church
Camp; but it wasn't until the age of 26 that he truly repented of his
sin and received as both Saviour and Lord.
After his conversion, Mr. Hermes sought to satiate his hunger and
thirst for the truth of God's Word by attending several churches
(Baptist, Wesleyan, Anabaptist, etc).
Without fully understanding why, he and his wife always felt out of
place. The reason: They were reformed (but didn't even know what that
word meant at the time).
In 1999 Mr. Hermes found a reformed fellowship in Mauston, WI where he
and his family finally felt at home. It was there that his spirit was
strengthened and his gifts were sharpened.
In 2003, Mr. Hermes and his family joined Grace Reformed Church where
he continued to grow in grace and knowledge and where his late wife Jan
joyfully served as church pianist.
Fred was nominated by the congregation to serve as an Elder in 2006,
was ordained and installed in fall of 2007, and is currently on
sabbatical.
Fred lives in La Valle, WI with his wife Nancy, mother-in-law Ruth, and
his two
children Jonathan and Hannah.
