"Now the Spirit expressly says
that in latter times some will depart
from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of
demons..."
Therefore, we are called to "give attention to reading, to exhortation,
and to doctrine." (c.f., 1 Timothy 4:1-13).
Straight-teaching (i.e., orthodoxy) is essential to the health and well
being of every believer and we therefore offer these resources for your
instruction and edification.
"If the foundations are
destroyed, what can the righteous do?"(Psalm
11:3).
If King David had to ask himself this question in his day, how much
more should we be asking it in ours?
The foundations of modern Thought have been destroyed by
the Enlightenment
The foundations of modern Science have been destroyed by
Darwinism
The foundations of modern Morality have been destroyed by
Humanism
The foundations of modern Society have been destroyed by
Secularism
The foundations of modern Piety have been destroyed by
Evangelicalism
Now what can the righteous do?
We believe that the righteous need to repent for allowing this to
happen and then return to that firm and indestructible foundation which
has been forever settled in the heavens: God's Holy Word.
This is what we are seeking to do as individuals, as families, and as a
church. For we truly believe that "All Scripture is God-breathed, and
is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete,
thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
As a Reformed church, we
are committed to the so-called "Solas" of the
16th century Protestant Reformation:
Sola
Scriptura
-
Scripture
Alone
We believe that the Holy Scriptures are given by inspiration of God and
are, therefore, the only perfect rule for faith and life.
Solo
Christo - Christ Alone
We believe that our salvation is solely accomplished by the sinless
life and substitutionary death of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Sola Gratia
- Grace Alone
We believe that our salvation is based purely upon God's free grace and
that no human merit is involved.
Sola Fide -
Faith Alone
We believe that faith is the alone instrument of our justification
before God.
Soli Deo Gloria - To God Alone be the Glory
We believe that all things exist to serve and enhance God's glory.
Therefore, we seek to order our lives, families, and church to that
chief end.
The Westminster Confession of
Faith and Catechisms are our official
statements of doctrine.
While we do not believe that any document written by mere mortals can
be infallible, we do believe that our confession and catechisms
faithfully summarize the system of doctrine which is taught in the Holy
Scriptures.
Therefore, we offer them here for your consideration and study.
