Music in our Church

In order to allow the word of Christ to dwell in us more richly and in all wisdom, we provide several opportunities to teach and admonish one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs as we sing with grace in our hearts to the Lord.

Congregational Singing

Far too often are the pews of the church regarded as spectator seats where we can sit back and enjoy a ‘spiritual show’ which is performed by others. Such passivity in worship is as unbiblical as it is unedifying.

The whole congregation is to be actively engaged in the worship of God from the beginning of the service until the benediction.

While some elements of worship are performed by the Minister on behalf of God, it is the responsibility and privilege of every member of the congregation to respond to God’s grace through song.

Therefore, we encourage the congregation to do their part in public worship by singing praise to God with excitement, excellence, and understanding.

Note of Praise

While we do not allow ‘solos’ or ‘specials’ in the service of public worship, we do acknowledge the spiritual benefits of such and have provided an opportunity for members to bless the congregation musically after our weekly fellowship meal.

For more information about this ministry, please contact the coordinator Elder Baldridge.

Hymn Sing

Every week we sing your favorite hymns by request at 1:30 pm.

Pastor McShaffrey also hosts occasional informal hymn sings at his home.

King’s Choir

This is an occasional family choir which ministers in the community and nursing homes. If you are interested in joining, please contact the director Elder Baldridge.
