What to Expect
Visiting a new church is always somewhat intimidating. In order
to prepare you better for a visit, here is what to expect:
-
As you enter the building you will greeted by an usher who will
welcome you with a smile and offer you a bulletin and a
hymnal.
-
As you look around the room, you will notice some diversity in
dress and demeanor (which is a sign of God’s non-discriminatory
grace).
-
As you wait for worship to begin, all the friendly chatter will
eventually give way to a quiet prelude (at which time we ask that
you prepare your heart).
-
Worship will begin as the Pastor enters the pulpit, greets us
with God’s grace, and calls us to worship.
-
Worship will continue with song, prayer, scripture, preaching,
and offerings (lasting approximately one hour).
-
As worship ends, the saints will begin to greet one another and
will most likely want to meet you.
-
Most families will continue this fellowship in the lower level
over a simple lunch (except on the first Lord’s Day when we bring
dishes to share).
-
After lunch, we go back upstairs to sing hymns by request, to
pray together, and to study the
Bible.
