Prayer is an offering up of our desires unto God, in the name of Christ, by the help of his Spirit; with confession of our sins, and thankful acknowledgment of his mercies.
This page is intended to bring you to a greater appreciation and experience of such prayer; not only in your own personal devotions, but also within the corporate ministries of prayer with our church.
Pre-worship Prayer
Join us in the Memorial Room at 10:30 a.m. each Lord's Day as we ask God to bring visitors, bless our worship, and build his church. Note - This meeting occurs while First Presbyterian Church is worshiping (so please enter the building quietly through the 2nd Street entrance and proceed immediately downstairs).
Corporate Prayer Share your personal prayer requests and pray with and for one another every Lord's Day at 1:45 pm.
Mid-week Prayer Our Wednesday night Bible Study at 7:00 pm provides a more informal and intimate setting of group prayer.
Even Jesus' disciples needed help learning how to pray. Therefore Christ gave them a pattern for their prayers, the Spirit was sent to help them pray as they ought, and the Father, through his divine providence, has raised up men of fervent prayer in every generation as examples and encouragements.
Please visit our Library and deepen your private prayers with the Valley of Vision and strengthen your family's prayers with the Book of Common Prayer.
God calls us to be "praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints..." (Ephesians 6:18).Our pastor, elders, members, and many friends are here to pray for you.
If you would like to share a prayer request, please contact the prayer-chain coordinator and he will forward your need to the church.
