Worship at Grace Reformed The corporate worship of God's people is arguably the most important function of a local church.

It is not merely a social gathering, but a divine act which is initiated, empowered, and made effectual by God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is in public worship that God Almighty meets with his people.

Please avail yourself of the information on this page so that you might come to a better understanding and appreciation for mystery of divine worship.
Our Worship is Divine
Worship is not merely a social gathering, but a divine act which is initiated, empowered, and made effectual by God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is in public worship that God Almighty meets with his people.

Our Worship is God-centered
Rather than focusing on our needs, feelings, and aspirations, we believe that the chief end of worship is God's glory. Therefore, all our acts of corporate worship are designed and intended to give God glory and honor.

Our Worship is Biblical
Since God appointed and presides over the public worship of his saints, he also reserves the right to regulate it. Therefore we only include in our worship those things which God has commanded.

Our Worship is Reverent
Since worship is primarily a meeting between God and his people, we do not take it lightly. The God we worship is holy, transcendent, and glorious. Therefore, we approach him carefully and reverently.

Our Worship is Joyful
We spent a great portion of our time in worship singing praise to God because of the great redemption he has provided for us in Christ and because of the joy we have in the Holy Spirit.

Our Worship is Covenantal
From the beginning God has always included the children of believers in his covenant promises. Therefore, we worship as families and encourage parents to ensure that their children are present and seated with them.

Besides making himself known to us through his Word and Spirit, God has also graciously provided the Sacraments; which are visible signs and seals of his covenant of grace.

These signs have been given by God to represent Christ and his benefits, to confirm our interest in him, to put a visible difference between Christians and worldlings, and to encourage us in the service of God in Christ according to his Word.

There are two sacraments which have been immediately instituted by God: Baptism & the Lord's Supper.

Baptism
We follow the great commission of Jesus and the worthy example of his Apostles by welcoming believers and their children into the church through water baptism in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
For more information, please consult Chapter 28 of our Confession of Faith or read the article entitled "Infant Baptism - A Duty of God's People"

The Lord's Supper
On the first Lord's Day of each month (and at other such times that the Session deems appropriate and edifying), we celebrate the Lord's Supper during worship.
We invite all who are right with God and the Visible Church to partake with us.
For more information, please consult Chapter 29 of our Confession of Faith or read the article entitled "Should I Take Communion in this Church?"
